Follow along in Part 4 as I build an insulated chicken coop. Weather in Alaska is unpredictable and sometimes extreme. This insulated coop will help protect my chickens from the elements and also reduce the amount of power necessary to keep them warm during the winter.

It also has a vapor barrier to reduce the risk of mold growth. Southeast Alaska is the black mold capital of the world thanks to our high humidity and nearly constant rain. Warm, humid structures without vapor barriers are almost guaranteed to grow mold.

Future plans include a ventilation system and some lights.
