It took 4 months. While was reading Farnelli «Designing Sound» I thought my mobile phone, Alcatel, could be good at singing.
I’ve started to record different sounds: noises of packages, hall’s ambience, refrigerator inside, boiling water, noises from the street, playing guitar pressed to table with mic, the space in the pocket, moving robot modules, phone positioning in the glass, dampers, hooks, screws, different parts of doors in the train, trampling conductors, the sound of the lamps at the train stop, the voices in the bank office, dog breath, reciting books in the forest, the engine start from the roof, the hood, inside the car, a refrigerator and a fan in the village shop.
I’ve also made some shoots for video clip - several scenes with river from the bridge, the sky with the wires, landscapes from the car’s roof, from its left side. Then I have selected some of the records and later some of the samples, distributed them to launchpad and after a while recorded this version. After that I configured some automation in Ableton. Only one record played all its length, 6 minutes - the noises from the street (singing frequencies).
Video was edited in Final Cut. First 3,5 minutes shows not edited Alcatel 1052D performance. Then almost all the time Final cut is interpreting Alcatel’s passages through the different effects (easy too see style of FC). But why can pop stars edit its video clip’s and Alcatel can’t? It doesn't have a good producer, but it has the spark on the LED screen, 0.3 mpx, 640 x 480 definition and 15 fps (all in .avi).
The project was rendered at 2K and 60 fps. The changing qualities of video show the differences between not edited and edited one.
