whoooa, a video on a monday?! that's different amiright?!
here's an oldie but a goodie we rerecorded recently titled strings. I wrote this song when i had a few days off back in chicago with A LOT on my mind with even more free time. I wrote this before covid and the george floyd protests when a woman(in AZ if i recall correctly) had police officers pointing their guns at her while her daughter was still in her arms because they were convinced she stole a barbie doll from the store- she didn't. that's why that line is so prevalent in the opening of the song and why i kept it in despite the language. it erked me man.
"i gotta think the cons of having a kid on this planet,

and explaining, like,"listen this world's gon' be vicious-
you're gonna have to work twice just to gain half the distance."
that part meant a lot to me too man cuz my pops had mentioned working twice as hard just to get your portion as i got older-i t stuck with me as i started touring the country and meeting people who didn't understand what that meant or even the concept. blew. my. mind.
anyways, had a great weekend man! played some basketball and was actually picked up for a few 3 v 3's! Went for a long run yesterday too and holy crap my legs are freaking DONE now lol. that's all i've got for yall.
