Empowering Cox’s Bazar: Transformative Project for Women and Youth
In an exciting collaboration, the International Labour Organization (ILO) Bangladesh and the Ministry of Youth and Sports have launched a transformative project, "Leaving No One Behind: Improving Skills and Economic Opportunities for Women & Youth in Cox's Bazar (ISEC)” that will equip Bangladeshi women and youth with the skills to improve their chances of getting decent work or starting their own businesses.
Funded by Global Affairs Canada and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands, this project is a beacon of hope for the future. The ILO has partnered with BRAC, UNDP, and FAO to implement it until 2025. #ISEC aims to empower 24,000 young Bangladeshi men and women in Cox’s Bazar, equipping them with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive. This transformative endeavor is a cornerstone of socioeconomic development within the district.
On September 5th, 2023, this project was launched in the presence of key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Youth & Sports, District Youth Development, District Commission, Tripartite constituents, and the UN Community.
This collaborative effort promises to be a game-changer, fostering empowerment, self-reliance, and economic growth among the women and youth of Cox’s Bazar. Together, we are building a brighter future for this vibrant community.
