My name is Jacob Jackson, I'm a project manager with Dewberry. I'd like to talk a little bit about automation in cybersecurity. What is cybersecurity as far as automation systems go? Well, it's the same as cybersecurity for an IT system. Worrying about confidentiality, integrity of data, and availability of systems, but just the slightest bit more emphasis on availability of those systems that it's automating. For example, in a data center, we're more worried about the availability of the HVAC system that is being controlled in order to keep that facility up and running. If we don't have HVAC, we might very well lose the whole data center, so the confidentiality and the integrity of how that automation system is running isn't quite as important as its availability. With that increase on availability, we also have to increase our audit and our accountability that's going on in our automation systems to make sure that who is accessing and what they're accessing is what it's supposed to be. Still the same CIA that we talk about on IT systems, but just the slightest bit more difference to give more availability to operators. We also want to take into account that there are certain regulations that apply to cybersecurity and automation. Some standards such as IEC 62443 or some of the NIST 800 series. These kind of give us some guidelines on automation in cybersecurity.
