Ali Guenoun holds a doctorate in history from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. His research focuses on the history of contemporary Algeria.
He has published Chronology of the Berber Movement: A Struggle and its People (Algiers: Casbah Publishers, 1999) and The Kabyle Question in Algerian Nationalism 1949-1962: How the 1949 Crisis Became the "Berberist" Crisis (Éditions du Croquant, 2021).
