The Koenigsegg Jesko, brought to the game by Robillard8831, sits in a league that I am usually not interested in. However, given Robi’s growing reputation for brilliant modding I decided to give it a go.
The first thing I noticed was the transmission. It shifts instantly, but spends a good half second or so slipping. It does still send power to the wheels, but it redlines while doing it and this results in an uneven power delivery, especially when upshifting on the exit of corners.
The next thing I noticed was the differential. I initially thought it felt like a visco diff, but after checking the default setup I noticed there was a little bit of deceleration locking from a torsen in there too. I can guess that the reasoning behind the very little (200nm) locking on the diff is to tame the massive 1625bhp power output, however having no consistent salisbury locking means that power output becomes a gamble as the inside wheel spins up very easily on corner exit. I can imagine this works well if you have traction and stability control on, but I’m not that kind of driver.
The saving factor however is the chassis balance. The car dips into corners and turns on the brakes perfectly, and this results in a good overall experience. The Jesko was destined to never be one of my favourite cars, but Robi has done a good job of bringing it to the game in a credible way. It’s also worth mentioning that this is much, much better than the Regera. If I were to follow the diff thinking further I would personally take the visco up to 500nm of locking, leave the rest as is, and then retune the front bump dampers, rear rebound dampers, front and rear anti roll bars, and brake balance to regain that original balance. I did this after recording the video and got a significantly better experience out of this, even without any salisbury locking.
