How to play the A minor scale on guitar

Guitar practice doesn’t have to be boring. In fact, you make the fastest progress when you are enjoying your practice time.
But memorizing guitar scale “boxes” is extremely boring. A box pattern is ok as a shortcut to get you started. But in the long run, boxes are not effective for fretboard navigation, for three reasons:
1. It’s difficult to move around the fretboard, so you tend to stay stuck in the same box.
2. Usually, you cannot do anything creative with those boxes.
3. How many are you going to memorize? There are so many scale types and so many positions to learn if you want to improvise freely.
Surely there must be a better way…
…Thankfully there is. Today I’ll show you a fun and effective way to jump around the fretboard and play the A Minor Scale (also known as the Aeolian Mode) in many different positions. We will use the String Fragment System™ which is much easier and faster than memorizing boxes.
