Infrastructure systems are fundamental tools to improve and reinforce economic growth. Transportation infrastructures are significant parts of infrastructure systems that are largely dependent on pavement, which can deteriorate over time. Maintenance and Rehabilitation (M&R) treatments provide services to preserve pavement and keep them in a serviceable condition. This Matlab design based on optimal M&R treatment scheduling for a large-scale pavement network by considering sustainability. Sustainability aspects will be investigated to minimise the cost, improve environmental impacts, and enhance social benefits. To develop the model an indicator is first selected to demonstrate the pavement condition. Then a pavement deterioration function will be based on the selected pavement performance indicator. In the next step, a sustainable pavement optimization model will be developed and used to plan M&R treatments. This model considers the sustainability criteria as the problem’s objective function. A new approach will be utilised to acquire a sustainability index and environmental index. Finally, MCSA is adapted to solve the M&R scheduling optimization problem.
