Not so intuitive Date Picker UI Components: Box8
This date picker component is provided to select the birth date. The intent of collecting the information is very wise, to provide personalized discounts on any user's birthday.
[UPDATE: After browsing for some time I could identify that the information on the top with red color is clickable and can navigate to other month and year options. It is still not very intuitive to understand which section is clickable in the component]
The Problem:
The date picker UI Component seem to not provide flexible month and year selection. It just provides left and right arrows to navigate through each month of the year.
This could be very painful for any user to select or tab through each month of the year to reach their birth date. For example: a user needs to select 01 January 2019 to 30 December 1970.
The Solution:
Use flexible and accessible date pickers which could allow users to select years to months to date. This will avoid waste of users time and provide better user experience.
The Bottom Line:
You could provide the best services but it comes down to one point - value your customers time. They take some precious time from their life to browse, buy products and services from you. Empathise with your customers and provide true value for their time and there is a high probability you would gain more loyal advocacy.
