Competitors from four regions came together for the second running of the event, displaying their splash-making skills with bombs, staples, storms, layouts and the ever-popular manu.
Bully-duke Madoc was the Overall Champion of the event, taking home a trophy and various sponsored prizes including a camera.
In other categories, Lee Nepe won the Manu Rangatira; Hiria Broederlow the Wāhine Toa and Braxton Goldsmith the Next Generation.
Children received spot prizes, and there was even a signed Warriors shirt up for grabs.
Background entertainment was provided by MC Gareth “Buzzy Beats” Thomas and DJ Murdurah.
Event organiser Barnard Huriwai was delighted with how it went.
“It was so unbelievable. I'm working on making it a national or even international competition.
“I'm so happy and humbled . . . thank you to all the sponsors and volunteers.”
Huriwai plans to keep the competition annual and hold smaller competitions once a month.
“The feedback was great. All the out-of-town people want to come back.
“We're taking this to the Olympics.”
