Dry Gulch Road is a 3.2-kilometer (2-mile) linkage between San Francisquito Canyon Road and Lake Hughes Road, two famous Southern California roads where many motoring enthusiasts congregate on weekends. Interestingly, Dry Gulch Road termini with San Francisquito Canyon Road and Lake Hughes Road are not paved, so most people drive (or ride) by thinking that it's a dirt road... but nearly its entirety is paved and it's in excellent condition.
Some maps call the eastern half of Dry Gulch Road as San Francisquito Mountainway. This latter is most often recognized, however, as the name of a dirt road that actually stems out of Dry Gulch Road approximately midway its course. In any event, one can always find this road in the Angeles National Forest as Forest Route 5N30.
