It took place in Turkey. It was one night, both the wedding ceremony and the henna party. In Turkey we generally do the henna party one night before the wedding ceremony, but we decided to do both in one night. This wedding is mostly a Turkish traditional wedding, but we wanted to add some Iranian traditions, as his extended family couldn’t travel to Turkey. In the first video in the clip you see, 2 girls are dancing after each other with a knife in front of us and the cake is called “knife dance”, its traditional Persian dance. Girls from the bride side are dancing by taking the knife and not giving it to the groom until he pays some amount of money to them. This is a totally Persian tradition. After that we are dancing with everyone in the saloon with Turkish traditional folk music as shown in the pictures. Then my husband and I stayed in the middle of the stage I have a red belt around my neck and everyone gave us gold or money. You can see some gold bracelets on my wrist in the picture. Later we had a Turkish henna party.
This party is a totally traditional Turkish henna party. My aunt put henna on our hands, I wore a red veil and I changed my wedding gown to an Indian dress. 🤍🤍 So my aunt put henna on my hand first, then it's traditional to ask for gold from my mother in law to give me gold, so I will open my other hand and they put henna on that too. As you see in the henna video, the green scarf lady (my mother in law) gave me gold and I allowed my aunt to put henna. Later on the wedding goes on and traditional Turkish folk dance we call “halay“ holding fingers to fingers and dancing with everyone 😅 that's the end of the ceremony. We only had a wedding in Turkey but some Iranian traditions included. ❤️
