Kom Op Tegen Kanker 2024
On March 17 2024 it was the 6th edition of the "Kom Op Tegen Kanker" (Come Up Against Cancer).
This edition took place in Halle, Belgium, every year they choose a different location to host the event.
For me personally it was the first time participating.
When i got asked by the team captain not long before the race, i didn't hesitate to confirm my support and presence.
Cancer touches a lot of people's life unfortunately every year.
I don't think there are a lot of people that can say that in their family nobody had cancer.
I know i already cannot say that!
That's why it's so important to support the fight against cancer.
The event consisted of running 100Km in total.
But it needs to be done in a team of 4 people.
The total distance is divided up into 40, 30, 20, 10Km.
At 10am i was at the start since i was doing 40Km, later on we picked up the 30K runner and so forth.
It didn't go completely according to plan but in the end we finished with 1 team, 4 people.
The crowds and animations along the way were great and heart warming.
It's always nice to see such big crowds, and especially if it's for a charity event!
We are already preparing for the 100km for next year, which will take place in De Schorre, Boom (the playground of Tomorrowland).

For the 2024 edition the total money raised was 2.125.000€, which is the highest amount so far!
This also sets the bar for next year to try and raise more!
