Hello, everyone. Welcome to Managing Chinese in 5 minutes.
When we make a new dish, and we would like to get a comment by asking “How do you like this dish?” In Chinese, it is “这道菜怎么样？”. Today we will learn how to express your opinion on dishes and drinks.
Chinese character Pronunciation Meaning
这道菜怎么样？ Zhè dào cài zěnme yàng? How do you like this dish?
道 dào a measure word for dish
菜 cài dish
怎么样？ zěnme yàng? How? How is it? How do you think about it?
这个咖啡怎么样？ Zhège kāfēi zěnme yàng? How do you like this coffee?
好吃/喝 Hǎo chī/hē good to eat (delicious) / good to drink (tasty)
很 hěn very
非常 fēicháng very much
太 tài too
还不错 hái bùcuò not bad
还可以 hái kěyǐ acceptable
还行 hái xíng Okay
马马虎虎 mǎmǎhǔhǔ so so (lit. horse horse tiger tiger)
