Motion Feedback on a Conveyor with Model TR1 Tru-Trac®
An effective means of obtaining conveyor feedback is to read directly from the belt itself, using a precision measuring wheel attached to a rotary incremental encoder.
An encoder is used on a conveyor to measure travel and trigger a tape cut in cut-to-length applications. An encoder can also be used to communicate belt motion through direct contact with a belt surface for conveyor tracking. Actions along a conveyor line rely on encoder feedback for exact coordination and precise timing.
