Encoder placement on a conveyor system
Conveyors are the perfect tool for demonstrating how encoders work. Conveyor belt movement is monitored by an encoder with a measuring wheel, and/or a shaft-mounted thru-bore encoder as shown. Actions that occur along the conveyor line -- like product inspection in this example -- rely on encoder feedback for precise timing and image generation.
