Imagine Dragons is an American pop rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. It is composed of Dan Reynolds (vocalist), Wayne Sermon (guitarist), Ben McKee (bassist) and Daniel Platzman (drummer). It gained worldwide recognition with the release of their debut studio album Night Visions (2012), and with their song "It's Time". Billboard placed them at the top of its 2013 "Year In Rock" chart, and called them "the breakout band of 2013." Rolling Stone magazine called their song Radioactive, from the Night Visions album, "the biggest rock hit of the year." MTV called them "the breakout band of the year." "Radioactive" is the second longest running song on the Billboard Hot 100 in history, with a total of 87 weeks. Night Visions peaked at number two on the weekly Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart. Their second studio album, Smoke + Mirrors, reached number one in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
Imagine Dragons won two American Music Awards for "Favorite Alternative Artist," a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance, five Billboard Music Awards and a World Music Award. In May 2014, the band earned a total of fourteen nominations in different categories at the Billboard Music Awards, including "Top Artist of the Year" and a Milestone Award, which recognizes the innovation and creativity of various artists across different genres.
As of January 2017, Imagine Dragons had sold 9 million copies of their albums, and 27 million singles.
