It’s just a short drive from Dubrovnik to the Konavle region where we visit and see the production of silk. Something that has been going on here since the 15th century. Silk is not a commercial product here, but rather it is used to create the highly decorative panels on the traditional dress of this area. The woman we met is keeping alive the tradition of breeding the silkworms and the making of silk. It is very much a part of their cultural identity.
