PCA 2022 - Villiger Cigars North America
Mr. Rene Castaneda of Villiger Cigars North America showcases the new Villiger Miami and La Libertad at this year's Premium Cigar Association trade show and convention, which took place July 8th - 12th, 2022 is Las Vegas, NV.
The new Villiger Miami is is a limited edition cigar made in only two sizes. A Robusto 5 x 50 and a Laguito No. 1 7.5 x 38. Both vitolas come in 10 count boxes. Using tobacco from 2015 and 2016, the Villiger Miami is made at the ABAM factory by Jose Matias Maragoto in the Dominican Republic. The cigar is not made in Miami, FL as many would assume. This cigar was gifted to colleagues and friend who visited Mr. Castaneda at his Miami office. And the cigar was always referred to as Villiger Miami, hence the name.
Also on displays is the new revamped La Libertad, which launched earlier this year. The new La Libertad is made at Villiger De Nicaragua, a new factory opened in Esteli. The blend features a a Nicaragua criollo wrapper, while the binder comes from the Cibao Valley in the Dominican Republic, and the Nicaraguan fillers include seco from Jalapa along with viso and ligero grown in Estelí. La Libertad comes in three vitolas which are Robusto 5 x 52, Corona 5 3/4 x 43 and Gran Toro 6 x 54. All in boxes of 20 cigars.
