And now… the end is here. TeamFourStar, the creators of Dragon Ball Z Abridged that grew into a full-on dubbing company, was the thing that got me into Dragon Ball to begin with. Watching the show grow from a silly parody where all the characters are dumb and swearing and hilarious, to the point where we quote everything they say, into a heartfelt, well-written, thoughtful love letter to Dragon Ball as a whole was an incredible sight to see. And even though the series came to a close, it couldn’t have ended in a more perfect way. Pun entirely intended. Mr. Perfect Cell is quite possibly one of my favorite villains I’ve ever seen, even to the point of surpassing canon Cell. Curtis “Takahata101” Arnott’s performance of the big green bug man was everything I loved about the original Cell, but exaggerated in all the right places. And of course, his rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” as he was disintegrated just hit me in the feels. So, as this series comes to a close, I’ve decided to face my fear of recording myself singing to try and perform the full version of My Way, as the team Originally intended.
