Rear Carrier Rack alternative for Brompton
I wanted a rear carrier for my Brompton. After a bit of research into the various options I decided to order this one from Ali Express which was the only place I could find it. It comes in silver or matte black. You can order it with or without wheels. It takes the standard Brompton roller wheels and bolts. It cost €28 and €15 shipping to Ireland. (It’s around €22 without roller wheels included but you can add your own later). It sits level with the ground unlike the Brompton version which slopes down at the rear. There is no need to remove wheel or mudguard when fitting but you may have to remove the middle mudguard support spar. I added a yellow stripe to the Brompton roller wheels to make it readily identifiable in case it got stolen in case you were wondering. Hope this video helps anyone out there considering a carrier for their Brompton bike.
UPDATE: Since installing this carrier I have noticed that the rear lugs were being bent by the force of the wheels hitting the ground when folding. I have since replaced all four wheels with skate wheels (look at my other videos) and have inserted a 110mm steel threaded rod between the back wheel to support the lugs.
