Everything in live streaming is a hack, especially when your use case requires real-time broadcasting to large audiences. WebRTC is one of the latest hacks to gain mass adoption in the streaming industry despite the fact that it was designed originally for peer-to-peer connections. This is primarily because WebRTC made us rethink broadcast and media pipelines with a focus on extremely low latency delivery and native playback in the web browser, enabling us to add interactivity to the live streaming experience.

Joining us for this episode of WebRTC Live is Ryan Jespersen, Director of Product Strategy at Dolby Laboratories. We will learn about the past, present, and future hacks that have evolved the use of WebRTC for Live Streaming. We’ll discuss topics like WHIP, WHEP, LL-HLS, and also get into Digital Rights Management and ad insertion.
