Introducing Uriel H. Caspi, 2024 NCECA Conference Presenter, Pot 'n Rope - Reviving Mediterranean Technique
Join Caspi on a journey along the Mediterranean shores to explore an ancient and unique hand-building technique using sisal rope and clay. We will learn an alternative method of modeling and forming large-scale pottery and sculpture, revive a traditional craft, and exploit digital fabrication.
From early childhood, ceramic artist Uriel Caspi has been fascinated with clay. He earned a BFA in Ceramics from the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem and an MFA from Alfred University, New York. Caspi has exhibited works and installations in museums and galleries in the US, Europe, Israel, Taiwan, and Japan.
