Can you get authentic Eddie Van Halen Tone from a 20 watt Marshall SV20H Plexi? You bet you can! This amp simply rocks. I got a little help from my old Jackson Dinky Strat. A match made in heaven. I did not use the Two Notes or OX Loadbox for this video. Just two great microphones in front of a roaring Marshall amp. I hit the front end with the Friedman BE-OD pedal and that was the ticket to the tone. I also added in a little boost from the Duellist pedal and that gave it the really big sound of a cranked 100 watt Marshall. What was amazing was that I was only using the five watt setting to get this huge tone! I was surprised, but it actually sounded better on the recording this way.
