DCS: Current state of WW2 AI - A test dogfight
I flew a series of test battles with WW2 planes against AI. Here's a one of them. I found that overall, the AI seems to have improved, as I no longer encountered opponents whose planes fly with completely different physics. On the other hand, with some planes, the AI now feels like a fairly easy target. But the changes in AI are heading in the right direction.
The setting here is clearly fictional: the Finnish Air Force's Bf 109 K-4 (in reality, the FiAF only used G-2 and G-6 models, with some minor exceptions) encounters a Lend-Lease VVS P-51D in northern Norway (the VVS had only a few P-51Ds, and their use was minimal), and neither the Finnish Air Force nor the VVS ever operated in northern Norway.
