Hi guys,
Hope you’re doing well!
Today I provided how to make one of the addictive old games for you to understand how a simple idea can be interesting and attract audiences all around the world. I vividly remember the first time I came across this game. It was in the middle of my university exams and I couldn’t study anymore, because I used to play the game 10 hours each day to reach 2048. It sounded impossible at the beginning but then, I found out how to play the game and I could reach larger numbers. Finally, I reached 2048!
This game, which is said that be made by an Italian teenager on the weekend (I don’t know how true it is), can be the foundation of merge games. After this game, different kinds of merge games emerged on the market with various forms and stories and they ruled this market for a while.
Perhaps one of the reasons for the popularity of this game can be its simple gameplay which is done by swipe (I have taught this in previous videos). The user should swipe his finger on the screen in different directions in order to move the blocks in that direction. If the same blocks become neighbors, they merge and make a larger number.
I forgot to say what other subjects you will learn by watching this video. Subjects that can be useful for you in the future:
Using Tween
Adding Matrix for Objects
Merging Blocks
Using Foreach Ordered
Using Pick highest/lowest
Lastly, DoonDookStudio’s team has always tried to share their knowledge of game making with interested people. You can help us to grow our network by sharing our content with your friends and subscribing to our channel. So we will meet new people and they will learn new subjects from us, too!
