Hey There !!!

I wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous new year 2024!!!

Today, our topic for discussion is 'AWS Well-Architected Framework'

The AWS Well-Architected Framework defines a set of foundational questions that enable us to understand how a specific architecture aligns with cloud best practices.

The framework provides a consistent approach for evaluating systems against the qualities that are expected from modern cloud-based systems.

Based on the state of architecture, the framework suggests improvements that we can make to better achieve those qualities.

Using the Framework helps us to learn architectural best practices for designing and operating secure, reliable, efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable workloads in the AWS Cloud.

It provides a way for us to consistently measure the architectures against best practices and identify areas for improvement.

The framework is based on six pillars: operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization, and sustainability.

a. Operational Excellence :
The Operational Excellence pillar includes the ability to support development and run workloads effectively, gain insight into their operations, and to continuously improve supporting processes and procedures to deliver business value.

b.Security:
The Security pillar encompasses the ability to protect data, systems, and assets to take advantage of cloud technologies to improve the security.

c.Reliability:
The Reliability pillar encompasses the ability of a workload to perform its intended function correctly and consistently when it’s expected to. This includes the ability to operate and test the workload through its total lifecycle.

d.Performance efficiency:
The Performance Efficiency pillar includes the ability to use computing resources efficiently to meet system requirements, and to maintain that efficiency as demand changes and technologies evolve.

e.Cost optimization:
The Cost Optimization pillar includes the ability to run systems to deliver business value at the lowest price point.

f.Sustainability:
pillar focuses on environmental impacts, especially energy consumption and efficiency, since they are important levers for architects to inform direct action to reduce resource usage.

We can use AWS Well-Architected Tool (AWS WA Tool) to document and measure the workload using the best practices from the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
