Step-by-Step Guide: Recovering Your EC2 Instance Without Changing Private IP

In this demo, we are going to recover our ec2 instance without modifying its Private IP Address.
We will perform the following steps:
1. Note down the Public and Private IP and AZ
2. Note down the assigned EBS root volume id
3. Stop the ec2 instance
4. Navigate to Elastic Block Store Volumes and take snapshot of volume
5. Switch to Elastic Block Store Snapshots and create a new root volume in same AZ.
6.Navigate to Volumes pane, detach the old root volume and attach new root volume
7.Start the ec2 instance
8.Note down the Public and Private IP,the Private IP address will be unchanged
