1735 kHz "DAI" or "EDAI" Medium Wave Beacon DX Oddity Heard in Michigan
This very weak CW signal surfaced just above the noise floor on March 19th, 2021 at 11:27 UTC on 1735 kHz medium wave repeating "DAI" or "EDAI" in morse code. Maybe a fishing driftnet beacon but maybe something else. The ID doesn't really fit with traditional driftnet beacon IDs that usually have an alphanumeric ID. This was picked up on my West DKAZ loop aimed at 270° from West Michigan that has a good reach to the West coast and South Pacific ocean. If anyone is familiar with this beacon then please comment or contact me directly since I'm really interested to know where it's coming from! This signal was quickly gone after only a few minutes.
