In this video I explain 2 ways to fix the APC Propeller 2 from power cycling or not powering up at all:
#1: Recommended way is to buy a voltage buck converter from Aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?...
#2 Use Diodes to drop the voltage from the +5V line down to the +3V line - Risky as if you get the wrong value diodes it could damage the unit.
For the diode fix I used 1x 10SQ045 (this is the large diode) + 6x 1N4007 (2 sets of 3 diodes in parallel to increase the current capability and reduce volt drop). You can buy these diodes from ALIEXPRESS for just a few dollers.
Capacitor: REQUIRED for both fixes!! You only need to add the 1000uF capacitor for it to work. It can be low voltage as long as it's more than 3.3V rated. Also available from Aliiexpress.
I recommend fix #1. Please set the 3.3V exactly before connecting to the 3.3V pads on the circuit board. Set the current pot on the buck converter to max and set the voltage to 3.3V. Connect your multimeter to the 3.3V to verify it's still 3.3V after connecting to your PCB. It may have dipped a bit and require tuning.
