SEC Radio Reset for Toyota Prado
This step by step guide will show you how to reset your Toyota Prado 2001 radio after a flat / disconnected battery.
May be similar for other stereo models.
Toyota Prado 2001 Radio SEC lockout
With our Toyota Prado 2001 01, after the battery had been removed SEC was showing on the cd / tape / radio display.
1) To remove the security SEC warning, find the last 3 digits of your VIN number (under the hood / front drivers windscreen / door jab) hold down the "TUNE" button and then press "1"
2) Use the numbers 1 2 and 3 to type in the last 3 digits of your VIN number.
3) Quickly hold down "SCAN" button, the radio will power off, then press the volume button to turn it back on.
Hopefully SEC has now been removed, enjoy your radio!
