This build is based off the Carthus Swordsman enemies from Dark Souls 3. I wanted to balance the damage and effectiveness of both the shotels and the spells on this build, so the stats are laid out accordingly. Overall, this is an incredibly fun and powerful build that I would highly recommend.
This build can achieve (close enough to make no difference) maximum cast speed, which is extremely useful for spam spells such as catchflame. You can burst down over-aggressive phantoms with ease, and still do great damage with 320+ incant scaling and both Incantation-boosting talismans.
The shotel, however, is one of the worst curved swords in the game with some of the shortest range and lowest AR out of all options. The only benefit they have is with their anti-shield properties. Bleed infusion is definitely the way to go. This is also done in order to replicate the Carthus shotel, which has innate bleed buildup. Blood Shotel will scale with DEX and ARC.
All the pyromancies I used on this build were based around the ones you can acquire from Carthus Catacombs and Smoldering Lake area. Elden Ring’s pyromancies are actually quite limited compared to Dark Souls 3’s selection, so I had to take some liberties.
