The 6th Potiguar Seminar "Pleasure in Reading" was held on August 6th and 7th, 2012, at the Aluízio Alves Municipal Center for Educational Reference - CEMURE, in the Nazaré neighborhood. The event, which has become one of the most important on the Potiguar cultural calendar, brings together educators, writers, and reading enthusiasts in presentations and debates aimed at "Talking about books, reading, literature, and reader development," as highlighted by this year's theme. According to Cláudia Santa Rosa, coordinator of the event, "talking about books, reading, literature, and reader development is a broad enough topic to encompass many conversations and literary moments, culminating dialogues initiated in training workshops, meetings of the Potiguar Forum of Reading Schools and exchange programs, technical follow-up visits to schools, the virtual training environment, and other spaces for learning and sharing." Therefore, she emphasizes, the seminar can be seen as a window for new conversations and the strengthening of reader development practices in schools and their respective communities. Organized by the Institute for Educational Development - IDE, in partnership with the C&A Institute, the Municipal Education Secretariat of Natal, the Municipal Education and Culture Secretariat of Parnamirim, the State Secretariat of Education and Culture, and the Union of Municipal Education Directors, the Seminar represents an opportunity for learning and exchange with renowned writers and specialists in the country and local educators and activists, with lectures, book launches, literary moments with readings of short stories and poems, as well as mobilization for the implementation and/or strengthening of public policies in the sector. For this edition, 600 registrations were made available, all of which were filled.
