Star Citizen running on Xubuntu Linux 24.04 Kernel 6.10
My system is 5800x, 32Gb, 2Tb NVME, AMD RX 6700 TX
The Kernel has been customized to include just the one GPU module and only support this GPU. I cut out a lot of the extras.
It's using Lutris and an older version of GE Proton. Sadly, I couldn't get this to work with Steam Proton and I tried all versions.

Lutris can use Steam Proton! So whatever you install in Steam, Lutris can detect it and use it. Imagine if you could compile Proton and compile it for your specific CPU!

You can compile the Kernel on most Linux distros and this can help pep up games but it's not for the inexperienced.
