In 2003, Aphex Twin released 26 Mixes For Cash, a compilation of many remixes that he had previously made. Despite being his last major release on his most popular moniker for 11 years, it would become an overlooked gem in his discography. In this video, I’ll show that 26 Mixes For Cash is Aphex Twin’s most interesting album by reviewing each song, talking about their history, and comparing them to the singles they are based on. There are so many bizarre details, cool stories, unexpected collaborations, and great songs here that I am really excited to share in this video. This is my first and possibly not last attempt at an edited video essay and I put a lot of effort into it. It was a blast to make (even if it was supposed to be a 3 month project that unfortunately was extended into a 6 month project). I am aware however that it’s far from perfect so I would appreciate any feedback as long as it isn’t mean spirited.

There are several segments of this video that contain flashing lights and images. There will be an on-screen warning before each segment.
