Say No to Bungs
A demo ... Why bungs should not be in place, even loosely fitted when using Kelly Kettles (and the like). The heat will expand the cork so a loose fit becomes tight and you've then created a sealed pressure cooker. The contained water will be superheated and when the bung (hopefully) blows out nearly all that superheated water will be ejected at speed :-(
