Saxophone Embouchure Basics
In this video, I will show you how to establish a good saxophone embouchure.
There are a few elements that are key to producing a good sound and you want to pay close attention to every single one.
These are:
The upper teeth are touching the mouthpiece
bottom lip is rolled onto the bottom teeth, creating a cushion between the teeth and the reed.
Align the upper and lower parts of your mouth, creating a rough C-shape
To find the right amount of lip to roll in, imagine your bottom teeth 'cutting' your lip in half
Experiment having a lot and very little lip in. This will allow you to find and feel the correct mouth/lip position.
