Hello everyone,

I've been performing artificial insemination on my own farm for over 7 years now, and today I'd like to show you an insemination procedure (unfortunately, you can't see anything, as everything happens inside the cow, but I'll draw it for you so you can visualize it).

Currently, the focus is more on heat signals and, subsequently, on pregnancy testing in cows. If you pay attention, you can see the fetus on the ultrasound.

Currently, the focus is more on heat signals and, afterward, on pregnancy testing in cows. If you pay attention, you can see the fetus on the ultrasound. Key Fertility Figures (our farm's figures in parentheses)
Age at first insemination: from approx. 14 months, average 16-18 months (from 15 months)
Age at first calving: 24-32 months, average 27 months (24-28 months, average 26.7 months)
Rest period: 40-90 days, average approx. 45-55 days (from day 40 of lactation)
Boneless period: from day 40 until the cow is confirmed pregnant, average approx. 150 days (approx. 98 days)
Pregnancy check by ultrasound from day 28 after insemination, by hand from approx. day 40 after insemination, by milk sample from approx. day 30; however, a second test is recommended.

Gestation period: 270 days plus or minus 10 days for cattle.
... Dry period: at least 6 weeks, minimum 4 weeks possible or continuous milking (not recommended), maximum I would say around 8-9 weeks (6-7 weeks).

Calving interval: 365-380 days (Simmental), 375-420 days (Black and White, Black and White, Red and White), (368 days).

You can find more details in another of my videos.

Best regards,
Bianka
