I know it’s ridiculous when a 24 year old sings about getting older, but existential crises (is crises the plural version of crisis?) unfortunately don’t take your age into consideration. But also, isn’t it crazy to think that I was 21 when I first stated uploading videos to YouTube? These last 2,5 years have truly been life changing.
I love this song. Obviously. I don’t think anybody can’t love it. It brings a certain kind of melancholy that I haven’t felt before. Don’t kill me, but I first heard it on glee (which might explain some of the changes in the melody in the video hehe) back in 2012 or something like that, and throughout the years the meaning of the lyrics has changed so many times. Both from listening to the original version, as well as just living through different stages of life. I think right now, I feel relieved when I listen to it. It’s like looking back on the past, learning from it, and feeling ready for the future. What does it feel like for you?
