Does a health reimbursement arrangement roll over? The answer depends on the specific HRA tyou offer and how you design your benefit.
Most HRA allowances rollover monthly until the end of the year, though an employer could offer an HRA that provides an annual allowance. Employers can decide whether they want their employee allowances to rollover at the end of the plan year. Most employers choose not to allow an annual rollover, making an HRA a use-it-or-lose-it benefit.
With a QSEHRA, annual rollover amounts combined with the new allowance for the year can't exceed the IRS maximum.
