Mussels for the Verdigris River
In late August 2024, the USFWS Neosho National Fish Hatchery transplanted about 1,000 freshwater mussels at the mouth of Boggy Creek on the Verdigris River. This is part of ongoing efforts by the Valley Foundation to improve the local habitat and restore the ecology of the land and river.
