Hey everyone it's Darren Copeland your VA Mortgage Expert. I'm sure you've heard the term BAH before which stands for Basic Housing Allowance. BAH is based on a few things:
1. Geographic duty location
2. Pay grade
3. And dependency status.
The intent of Basic Housing Allowance is to provide uniformed service members accuarate and equitable housing compensation based on housing costs in local civilian housing markets. Many of our borrowers like to use the amount of their BAH for their monthly house payment. We simply figure out how much of a house that buys and take it from there.
