Sky forecast for astrophotographers August 2024 - Cygnus nebula, stellar winds and the Perseids
Two special astronomical events are coming up in August 2024 that are of great interest to amateur astronomers and astrophotographers. On August 12, the Perseid meteor shower will reach its peak, while almost simultaneously, Mars and Jupiter will experience a close conjunction in the morning sky. The constellation Cygnus, with the North American Nebula NGC 7000, the Cirrus Nebula, and the Crescent Nebula NGC 6888, offers some of the most beautiful motifs of the summer sky. The inconspicuous constellations Vulpecula (Little Fox) and Sagitta (Arrow) also have a lot to offer. In addition, the nights are getting longer again, and the weather tends to be stable in late summer. These are ideal conditions for impressive astrophotography.
