Systatic employs a sound that has been classified as "Rock-tronic" or "Digital Hardcore". Utilizing technology to accent the standard organic approach to modern heavy music. Combining elements of Techno and Ambient Trip Hop with the brutal rythmic pounding of Hardcore Metal. The end result is a sound that is felt as well as heard.
Systatic was formed in the fall 2000 by the four remaining members of the band SPLIT after parting ways with their original singer. Keyboardist Aaron Cain, Bassist Scott Hoffman, Guitarist Bryan Diehl, and Drummer Ryan Smith had been searching for a truly unique sound through the implementation of technological textures over the gritty over-tones of modern Heavy Metal. They had spent several years perfecting this approach and all that was left was to find the right voice to complete the package. After finding a resume posted on the TAXI songwriters community web site, Cain contacted former Great Atomic Power founder, Matthew Ward. Upon hearing an MP3 of the insrumentation to a song with no vocals, Ward immediately knew he had found a home. Vocals were written for the song that night before ever meeting face to face with the song's creators. When the time finally came for Ward to audition, he had the vocal concept completely worked out and performed it in it's entirety the first time through. That was the point that Systatic was born. By the end of that month, Ward had completed lyrics for every song in their set and the band was ready to move forward. Since then they have created quite a buzz in the community resulting in their third show being an opening slot with the Deftones at the Rialto theater in Tucson, AZ. As well as several shows in and around the Phoenix area including private engagements that the band was commissioned to play.
At this time Systatic is completing their four song debut CD and gearing up for several more shows to an ever growing fan base. The fans they have made are so die hard that they followed the band to Tucson for the Deftones show, even though the show had been sold out for weeks.
