Adventures in Space Robotics (Virtual Cafe Sci Presentation)
As we endeavor toward a future of mining asteroids and exploring ever-more-distant worlds, space exploration will almost certainly be led by robots – and those robots need innovative people to design, create and operate them.
In this presentation, originally recorded on January 25, Moriah Conner and Dagney Paskach share their experiences in space robotics!
They have simulated challenges that space scientists are trying to solve as part of the Cardinal Mining Space Club at Iowa State University and are prototyping an interactive exhibit for SCI that simulates how robotic Mars rovers receive commands from their drivers on Earth.
This presentation is part of SCI's Cafe Scientifique series, which highlights the innovative work being done by STEM professionals within Iowa and beyond. It is designed for adults and young adults, but we encourage anyone with an interest in lifelong learning and/or careers in STEM to participate!
