Now that we're familiar with Blender's Compositor, we can start exploring features it offers that cannot be done with the Video Sequence Editor. First up is editing mattes - that is to say, how to get Blender to distinguish between the subject and background in a movie file. By doing that, we can "extract" the subject and use it elsewhere.
The footage recorded didn't give good clean results for any of the 3 methods shown. I chose to keep it to demonstrate the garbage in garbage out principle :)
