This is how you claim the featured snippet on Google - start by extracting bold keywords from the Google SERP.
Hey Everyone, Steve Toth from SEO Notebook again with another bookmarklet hack for SEO. Today I'll show you how to copy all the bolded keywords from the Google SERP which are related to your search using javascript bookmarklets! I'll also explain why downloading all the bolded keywords from the SERP are valuable for your SEO strategy and how they can help you come up with better header and content ideas.
By exporting and then using these bolded keywords, which are synonyms that Google identifies for us related to your original search in your content, you can get the edge over your competitors and possibly knock them off the top spots on Google!
Here's how you do it:
Step 1:
To get started, go to the link provided by Pablo Rosales from SEO Secret Lab in the links below and copy the JavaScript code.
Step 2:
Then, create a bookmarklet and edit it by pasting the code.
Step 3:
Then, search for your keyword or phrase in Google, setting your search results to 100.
The bookmarklet will bring up all the bolded keywords in a pop-up window, which you can then copy and paste into a Google Sheet (link below)
The Google Sheet does something interesting with the bolded keywords by breaking them down into individual words and checking them against the query. Best of all, it takes out all the redundant words and gives you a list of interesting synonyms to use in your content that actually make sense and can help you write better content.
