Georgios Zaimis - Genesis (original synthwave | DX7)
An original composition performed on the classic Yamaha DX7, one of the most popular digital synthesizers ever, whose distinctive sound can be heard on many recordings, especially pop music from the 1980s. The music here is totally different from my previous so far, influenced by genres as dance, ambient, electro, house, etc... Every sound patch in the composition apart from the drums, is generated solely by the DX7 engine known for its FM synthesis type.
Featuring here the Mark II model (DX7 IIFD) which allows two voices to be layered in dual mode, known as "performances". A lot of performances and single sounds, both custom and factory ones are utilized here, including the famous "Bass 1", a bass sound that you can find in so many 80s productions...
The drums are generated by the Korg Triton Studio, while the DX7 tones pass through external FX, mainly delay ones. Hope you enjoy it!
