NS 26X grinds past the crossing at Amity Street on a brisk autumn day with NS 8114 (Norfolk & Southern Heritage) leading the charge with GECX 4940 (Ex-BNSF H2) following up behind pulling a hotshot intermodal train that originated all the way in Los Angeles. NS 8114 originally was probably scheduled to come back on a 28M on the 5th, however was bad-ordered in Chicago on the 4th and was not allowed to leave 47th St. Yard. This was the third eastbound in a parade of the morning, with a fourth coming up right behind it on Main 1. 26X itself was slowing for the 36A in front of it, so was approaching the crossing nice and slow. GECX 4940 is also not a new face to the area, it had already been around the place once on several Chicago intermodals before finally being sent south on a 25A, presumably sent back north on a 240, then being sent back to BNSF on a 283. Somehow it found its way back and was paired with 8114.
